Mahon Cheese

One of the pillars in history of livestock and culinary traditions of Menorca

Mahon cheese is a symbolic product of Menorca. It is elaborated with milk cow curdled at low temperature and it is salty due to island traditional immersion and cured. The process is carried out according to ancestral traditions being one of the pillars in history of livestock and culinary traditions of Menorca.

In 1985, certificate of origin was designated as Mahon cheese and then, in 1998, “Menorca” was included being: Mahón-Menorca.
