Relais & Châteaux en Alaior
Recently opened in the municipality of Alaior, Fontenille Menorca presents a new tourist concept unique on the Balearic island, offering nature, two kilometres of white sandy beaches, two architecturally rich boutique hotels, a spa, two restaurants, a bar and an eco-sustainable farm in an area of more than 300 hectares.
The complex was born from the union of the historic estates of Santa Ponsa and Torre Vella, two properties of different styles and located just a few kilometres from each other.
Santa Ponsa is a former 17th century palace with Moorish reminiscences surrounded by lush gardens and terraces, filled with palm trees, giant fig trees, exotic flowers and ponds.
The hotel has 22 rooms, a restaurant run by Catalan chef Albert Riera with influences from Spanish and French cuisines and a spa using organic produce.
Torre Vella is one of the best examples of classic Menorcan architecture. It is a large building with white walls that is articulated around a central courtyard. Torre Vella has 17 rooms, a seasonal restaurant and an ephemeral bar located on the edge of the cliff, 60 metres above sea level.
Numerous activities are programmed in the complex, such as yoga and meditation classes in front of the sea, pottery workshops, boat and horseback rides, etc.
