About the area: Villacarlos
Es Castell (Villacarlos) is located two kilometers far from Mahon. It was founded by the British receiving the name of Georgetown. After the subsequent occupation by Franco-Spanish troops it was renamed Villacarlos in honor to King Charles III of Spain.
